Hi, my name is Max Ponton and I live at home with my Mum, Dad and little brother, Josh. I like going to Scouts and my hobbies include in-line skating and gymnastics. I am a member of Kestrel Gymnastics club and train twice a week. In my spare time, I like playing on my trampoline and my Wii. I like to be active and enjoy playing with my friends. I am very happy to be King this year as I have always been in the gala procession with either Beavers, Cubs or Scouts.

Hi, my name is Ellen Foster and I'm 11 years old. I live with my Mum, Dad and two 'monster' brothers! (Robbie and Keir). I also have a couple of guinea pigs, Patch and Tigger. My hobbies are dancing, gymnastics and running. I am practising for a dance show later this year and will be performing at Gymfest 2008 with my gymnastics club. I also love shopping and hanging out with my friends. My Mum and Auntie have lived in Silverknowes for many, many years! And of course have always enjoyed the gala. I hope everyone has a fun-filled time this year.

I've been living in this area with my family for nearly 20 years, I know, a newcomer by many standards! When we moved here we had three pre-teenagers who all went to local schools, they are now all adults who benefited in obvious and subtle ways from belonging to the community that is Davidson's Mains. When visiting the Scout Hall for my eldest son's first night at Cubs I rashly volunteered to help and suddenly found myself, along with four other mums, starting Davidson's Mains' first ever Beaver Colony. (My youngest son proudly claims to have been the first ever Beaver to be put out of the room for bad behaviour, ever the comedian....). This started my relationship with the Scout Group as both parent and leader. I am proud to have been involved with an organisation which continues the time honoured traditions of scouting, allowing so many young people to get a taste for adventure and so much more. None of this is possible without the army of leaders and adult supporters who generously give their time and resources, I salute you all, past and present leaders and helpers, and accept the honour of being Gracious Lady on your behalf as well as my own.

Hi, my name is Lorna Blair and I am 12 years old. I live in Davidson's Mains with my Mum, Dad and older brother. I also have a dog called Holly. My hobbies include swimming and dancing. I swim 8 hours a week with Hearts ASC and I dance 3 hours a week with EH Dance. I am really excited about being in this years gala and I hope it doesn't rain.
Hi my name is Katherine French. I am 11 years old and in P7C at Davidson's Mains Primary School.
I live with my mum, dad and big sister Rebecca who was in the Gala three years ago. I also have a big brother called Chris.
My pets are a guinea pig named Scruffles and two gerbils called Roo and Charlie.
I swim competitively and train with Heart of Midlothian ASC four times a week. I also enjoy dancing and Guides.
I am looking forward to Gala Day.
Hi, my name is Hannah Leslie. I am 12 years old and go to Davidson's Mains Primary. I live on Corbiehill Road with my mum and brother, Connor. He is 14 and goes to The Royal High School. I also have a sandy coloured gerbil called Axel. I have lived in Davidson's Mains all my life and really enjoy it here.
My hobbies include reading, running and skateboarding and I go to Transgression Skate Park regularly. I go to Scouts and enjoy the camps and trips they take us on.
I'm really looking forward to this year's Gala and can't wait for the big day!

My Hobbies are Dancing, singing, and being out with my friends. I am very pleased to be in the gala court as I have cousins that have been in it in the past.

Hi my name is Megan Rennie. I live in Silverknowes Brae with my dad (Lindsay), sister (Laura) and mum (Janie). I have 2 fish called Gizzmo and Squirt who are quite good fun!
I swim with Hearts of Midlothian which I enjoy and I also do gymnastics with Kestrels which is great fun. My hobbies are going out with my friends, shopping, watching TV, going on the computer and bouncing on my friend's trampoline.
I was so excited when I was told I was in the gala and I am looking forward to it very much.
Hi, my name is Lucy Walker and I am 11 years old. I live in Corbiehill Avenue with my mum, dad and little sister Emma. I enjoy many different sports and play rugby for the RHC Cougars. Other sports that I enjoy are swimming, basketball, badminton and hockey to name but a few. I am very musical and play the violin, guitar and recorder. Some of the artists that I enjoy are Nickelback, Leona Lewis and The Hoosiers. My favourite song just now is Nickelback Photograph.
Gaming is another of my many hobbies and interests and I own a Playstation 2 and a Nintendo DS Lite. My favourite video games are Pokemon Diamond, Rugby 2008 and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.
The last book that I read was Maximum Security by Robert Muchamore. I find his books both gripping and exciting. Some of the other authors that I like are Chris Ryan and James Patterson.
I am really excited about being in the Gala Court and I just hope that it doesn't rain on the day!

My name is Ryan Bunker, I am eleven years old and live in Silverknowes Road.
I went to a primary school in Greenlaw in the Scottish Borders until I was nine then started at Davidsons Mains Primary School. I have an older brother called Sean and he is thirteen years old who goes to Royal High. My hobbies are climbing, swimming, and gaming. I have a small black, brown, and white cat called Archie and he is very mental. I am in Scouts and they take us on fun camps and walks. I am looking foward to this years gala day.
Hello my name is Jonathan Clark and I am 11. I have a mum, dad and a sister. I go to Davidson's mains primary school and I'm in primary seven. After the summer holidays I am going to high school I am really looking forward to going to high school but I'm going to a different school than all of my friends and I'll miss them all.
I have a lot of hobbies like playing sports but my favourite sport is ice hockey. I play at murrayfield ice rink with the junior team. I play in the under 12's. I train twice a week and I really enjoy it, but I especially like it when I play for the team-it's so much fun! I also play golf. I go to silverknowes golf course and play with my granddad and sometimes with my friends. I can also get lessons at Port Royal driving range with a pro!
In my spare time I like to listen to music. I don't have a favourite artist but I try to listen to the charts almost every week.
I am really excited about being in the gala court this year because I go to the gala every year and I had always wanted to be in the court. Usually I'm in the parade with the Boys Brigade but this year I'm still in the parade but I'm in the limo with everyone else.
My name is Dan Docherty and I am 12 years old and go to Davidson's Mains school. I am a prefect and also am on the Eco Schools committee. I stay in Silverknowes with my parents and 9 year old brother who is in P4 at Davidsons Mains school.
My interests are computers, reading, and classical music. I also enjoy swimming and cycling. I am looking forward to being at Royal High after the summer holidays.
Hi I am Joe Milne I am 12 years old. I have two sisters - my big one is called Cait my little one is called Abi. My mum and dad are called Heather and Mark. I also have a dog called Vary she is a bearded collie. I am a member of sixty six Leith scouts and I was a sixer in cubs and an assistant patrol leader in scouts. I was also an eco warrior for my year group and a member of the D'Mains wild life club. I hope to get a higher in c.d.t. and a degree in biology. My ambition is life is to sky dive and go zorbing. I can play the guitar and the recorder.
My hobbies are Mountain biking, ice skating, skate boarding, snow boarding, scootering and reading. I like Anthony Horowitz - he is my favourite author. I love comedy and have a great sense of fun and humour.
My name is Michael Simmons, I am in P7B at Davidson's Mains Primary School. I live with my Mum, Dad and brother (who is very annoying). My hobbies are playing on my PC or PS2, cycling, fencing and other sports. I think being in the gala will be fun and I hope that this year I don't have to help put up the tents! I am looking forward to the food in V.I.P. tent instead.
